Full Steam Ahead

So we are all confirmed - Crop Waikato is full steam ahead...
In fact it's sort of snow balled and while that is super exciting it does mean that we are going to have to cap numbers.

So if you are definately keen to be on the list make sure you get your name on it ASAP! We may lose people closer to the date or we can always try and work something out... we just need your name ;) All the details are on the Crop Waikato blog.

Oh and Karen I know you read this and I was thinking you might be interested in coming along... so come say hi at work... or not - up to you. Holla! Hee hee!

Hope you are al loving the long weekend... mine is briefly broken by 4 hours of work tomorrow... but otherwise I have all but finished my layout for the first round of So You Think You Can Scrap... so glad it was Meek first up - love her. Also went and saw 21 today... way better than anticipated. Loved it.

A layout and an update

Most of you will know by now that Tanya Leigh has set up a challenge blog The Little Shop of Sketches with some fantastic sketches and she was nice enough to ask me to scrap her lastest one...

Make sure you head over and give it a crack... this sketch thing makes it so much easier to get a page done in double time...

Also I have updated the Crop Waikato blog - we are starting to get some goodies together from some sponsors! YAH! Prizes! We've anounced our first sponsors so be sure to check that out.

This was my weekend...

* scrapping... did a layout for someone specail to use on her blog on Wednesday
* whipping up a blog for Crop Waikato -> clicky over there or even HERE
* chatin on webcam to Michele and on the phone to Lindi and Jes
* driving... well more sitting bored while Mike drove... I get bored... and take photos of my socks
* visiting my Nana... had to have an operation this week but she is A OK
* Indiana 4... rad til the last 20 minutes... then weird
* gelato... ohhhh gelato...
* balls of aqua wool... haven't knitted since I was 12 but the wool compelled me ;)

But yeah today is the day that my little scrap space is featuring on the Fiskars Blog.

Dawn used ALL the photos so it's a crazy huge post... just like me to hog the lime light ;)

This is a post about places to go...

Firstly September is sliding up real fast so I've been spending a lot of time at the travel agent... filled out my forms yesterday for a new passport - I have to send my old one in... does anyone know if they'll send it back? Now I just have to go and get some gorgeous passport photos... woo hoo. Then I have to wait for Mr Banker to say I can go... come on Mr Banker man... be nice... I'm a lovely person I promise...

Secondly go and do the KIWIJACK... support the local girls ;)

Also I just wanted to point out some cool new places on the WWW for you to go look at. Tanya has started not only a new BLOG but a new FORUM too... girl's been busy. She's asked me for a little somin' somin' so I'll be having a go at that this weekend.

Also as I said in my post Megan has been up to something so go have a look at her SITE.

Also I am going to have a go at this... SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SCRAP. I've never really entered a competition so this will be interesting.

Well I have to go to work... so I will leave you with a little tease... I am working on a thing or two...not ready yet... a little bit more work to do - some small and some bigger - but we'll be ready to go real soon - hopefully next week ;)

Oh and the pocket book is pretty much done - bit of journalling here and there... so once I knock that off I'll post - promise.

It's 10pm and my house smells like chocolate brownie...
Frankly I believe that everyones house should always smell like brownies...

Just stopping in... letting you know that I found something this in the bookshop and making it my own... it full of pockets - even the cover... I know - I love finding stuff like this... FUN!




So I'll be back really soon to share that... it's aout half way finished...

Also there is a running feature on the Fiskars blog featuring scrap spaces... fun to see how other people handle the chaos ;) So keep an eye on that ;) hint hint...

I also just wanted to touch on what you will all already know about by now - that Scrapbook Essentials is closing on May 31st... talk about a shocker. I feel for Meg but I know that she is a great mum and is only acting in the best interest of her little family. I was completely blessed to be part of the Design Team from October 2006 until January this year and it will leave a MASSIVE hole for us kiwi scrappers.

So to all the friends I have made over there stick aroun - keep visiting... I have been hanging out at SBO as well (with a few familiar faces!) and Andrea and the girls there are super lovely... otherwise I know lil Megan is up to something to... just hope that Meg stays on the radar too ;)

NSD: An Overveiw

OK So now that I am sort of coming down from the highs of the last week I better share my National Scrapbooking Day with you.

I went to Vickys place to scrap in the morning... and while I got a bit done I think that the fact I was in the presence of greatness threw me into a mojo brick wall... I came home and did a few layouts in the arvo too.

It was so cool to hang with Vicky... she is just so naturally 'cool'... if you've met her you'll understand... and while Arlo was almost my new best friend Kaya was pretty shy... standing in the doorway where I was out of sight. I got to see his scrapbooking desk and left him a wee pressie from my stash that he'll enjoy more than me... I will win him over yet ;)

So as part of NSD I thought that for the first time I would actually enter a few challenges... I entered 3 over at Scrapbook Outlet... you'll have to click through to flickr to see them full. I did another one that's over there... it's a bad photo so I'll leave it there til I can get a better one in good daylight.

Foo Figthin'

Last night we went to the Foo Fighters concert in Auckland.

This morning I have read all the reveiws, all the news articles and comments from other people who went... and I still can only really find one word to describe it...

The new 'family' car

So this weekend saw the annual Beach Hop car meet at Whanagamata...

Mike was working and I had NSD... plus the weather was meant to be poo so we decided that this year we'd give it a miss. My mum and dad had a friends batch to stay at so they tried to change our minds but we said no.

Anyway... yesterday afternoon I get a call from my dad... hardly breathing, fumbling words... scary really. I had no idea what was wrong...

This year at the Hop they had a prize draw... purchase a programme for $5 and your name goes in the draw for a 1959 Pontiac Catalina... but you have to be at the draw.

My dad did and was there at the draw with my mama and my sister.

They do the draw and announce that they are going to call the cellphone number... the crowd goes dead quiet. My dads phone makes a noise... the crowd turns... "It'll just be one of my kids" he says to them... looks at the phone "unknown number"... dad's heart starts POUNDING!

Next thing he knows he is on the stage, shaking madly, as the crowd claps and he looks down at his new old car that cost him $5!

My brother raced over last night and we shot over early this morning... we are all smiling and just can not believe this...

The bottom photo is from the Beach Hop website... it was raining and the car was surrounded by people so it was hard to get a full frame shot ;) There are more photos on our Flickr.

I am so happy for my dad and for my mum... she has her own rad wheels to enter at next years hop. Love you both.

What to do what to do...

OK so I am up super early for a saturday... (yawn)
Bags are packed... hoping that the LSS in Hamilton is open early enough to pop in for a quick look before hitting Vickys place.
Hope that all my scrappy buddies are getting their scrap on today... PLEASE show me what you create... seriously. I'll show you mine etc... ;)
