SBO Guest Designer Layouts, originally uploaded by Neen and Mike.

OK so I was completed blessed by my scrappy friend Vicky (and the rest of the team at SBO) last week. I was sent Aprils kit from NZ Scrapbook Oulet to PLAY WITH! And who doesn't LOVE uber yummy scrappy goodies to play with!

Vicky and Trina designed this kit and I am NOT kidding or over stressing this enough... IT IS GOOOOORGEOUS!

I had a bit of fun with twigs from the neighbours tree, using the frames as a mask and painting and inking my first grungeboard. CLICK HERE to see the rest of the layouts...

The layouts are featured in the latest EZine - which is also a great read... just make sure you click that link...

...a scrapping mag on the net... talk about an idea that rocks!

6 words...

Right now I have woken to a sunday full of possibility and questions...
And I have (thanks in part to our friend Cathy) been here starring at a screen with a tidal wave of words throwing through my mind...
This is the story...

Legend has it that Hemingway was once challenged to write a story in only six words. His response? “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” Last year, SMITH Magazine re-ignited the recountre by asking readers for their own six word memoirs. They sent in short life stories in droves, from the bittersweet (“Cursed with cancer, blessed with friends”) and poignant (“I still make coffee for two”) to the inspirational (“Business school? Bah! Pop music? Hurrah”).

So I challenge you too to sit there, starring at the screen, thinking of words...
What would be your 6 word life story...
What is your 6 Word Memoir?

So... what would be mine you ask...
Well it was hard at first, now it's hard to stop.

I came up with a few but this one will have to do...

General wonderment

Am I the only one who thinks weird things like this...

...why do they always use guys to narrate ads for girly products...
...does 'broccoli' mean anything or is it just a name...
...winter is awesome... I hate summer...
...can cats have mental illness...
...will the courier get my surprise get here tomorrow...

Also got this... so excited just from flicking through it that I seriously might just go to bed right now and start it.

PS: To be in on the surprise - maybe you should subscribe to THIS... shh secret squirrel.

So we are both EXHAUSTED and now we are off to work... yawn.... pull it together.

A full on weekend of racing will do that to you... screaming, yelling, walking, lining for food, sneaking family into stands, flag waving, dancing... and more. It's a wonder I made it out of bed ;)

All in all it was a fantastic weekend. The end result was of course that Holden Racing Team's Gareth Tander took out all 3 races (like there was any doubt!).

But now it's off to work I go!

MDO

Sitting, slowly sipping Kahlua 'n coke... letting the poo day I just had flow out of me and into oblivion...
and planning my day tomorrow.

You see we were lined up for 3 full days of V8 madness... but it has turned out I have an unexpected day off tomorrow as Mike was not really able to take the day off... soooo

Option 1: Go to the racing alone.... hmmm...

Option 2:

I am SO excited about option 2 that it's almost depressing.
Planning is one thing... my ability to stick it is totally another... we will see...

PS: Greeny and I are still not on very good speaking terms. I have spoken with the local sewing shop about "counciling".

Greeny

Greeny, originally uploaded by Neen and Mike.

So inspired by Silje. Rachel and the other Red Velvet girls that I pulled my much loved, but abandoned, vintage sewing machine out of the garage.

We have a love hate relationship - I love it, it hates me... it makes me mad, I throw it back in the suitcase and into the garage it goes again.

But I REALLY wanna learn how to use it. I figure that it's survived since the 60's and it be like killing it's soul if I didn't.

So yeah if anyone can tell me what all though knobs do I'd be SO stoked... seriously.

In more news I finally tracked down my drivers licence... well it tracked me down - it was at the police station looking for me. So I can drive legally again ;) Good thing really.

Well that's all for now... I am off to enjoy a wonderfull 11 hour day at work..... HOORAY!

So you know those annoying blogs that start playing music as soon as they load....

Well mine is now one of those! How exciting ;) Hee hee...

Couldn't help myself... just loving me some new tunes lately so had to share.
Also as promised...
have been scrappin...
nothing too fantastic...
time poor etc.
We'll just see how the weekend treats us.

Click on my flickr majigee over on the side bar to see inside my Marokopa laminated mini album.

Yip jumped on that laminated album bandwagon... harder that you think to find stuff that can go through a laminator... fun though.

That seond layout (fyi) is fo the latest Kiwi Jack Me Up... head on over and have a Jack nooky at the Trina McClunie layout we are lifting this month.

OK I am off - Rove's on... missed Rove. Then watching The Brothers Solomon... should be 'interesting'.

Oh and a big HIYA shout out to my 3 bloglines subscribers... am addicted to blog lines... I have 104 feeds... yip, exactly.
