As ever

So tell me, do you have a technique that you can't stand or just find really hard...

For me it's cutting out patterns from paper...
Honestly, call me impatient but I just can't get myself to cut out those fine flowers and swirls... I love love love the look but I just don't have the steady hand or mind for it :)

But a new thing I tried and loved was coating some self made transparencies. I found an image of a butterfly, copied them in different sizes onto OHP sheets, cut them out (as fast and rough as I could!) and covered the underside in glitter using modge podge...

I love them... and am thinking of all the pictures I could do this too... thinking stars (ha ha) and even UFOs... fun times.

If you try it show me the result...

Closer

So the cure for feeling sorry for oneself is to pour a hot bath, add bubbles and yummy soap and perch the laptop on the bathroom sink to watch Two And A Half Men on dvd whilst soaking. Thanks for all the love... its awesome :) and I love ya right back.

And today was a good day...

...why? Because we walked into the travel agent and handed over a heck of a lot of money... and because that means that all of this is just that much closer...

1. Portland Sign, 2. us, 3. Public Market, 4. Seattle Space Needle and Experience Music Project, 5. DSCN3378f, 6. Weather Report, 7. Colourful Beach Huts Isle Of Wight, 8. Leaning Tower of Piza, 9. lofty spires galore

I seriously can not wait.

"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”

This is it...

...before it is dismantled to become something better in the future...

It's not really me... and it just makes me sad...
I just goes to show that if you hate something the chance are that other people will too...

PS: Thanks for the tips on the travel journal... mine is all ready to go - will share soon but it is completely scraplifted from the talented and lovely Emily.
PPS: I just want to make it really really clear that I'm not bitter... my disappointment is in myself because I know I could have done so much better... thats all... :)

Inspiration:

I have some ideas for creating my own travel journal to take with us in September... has anyone seen anything on the wonderful worldwide web? Or got any ideas... I want it to be pretty small but still usable...

Hope you can help.

A catch up in bullet points

  • It is cold - I love it... I am SO a winter person but also SO need to invest in some new winter woolies.

  • The knitting thing - It's mean to be a scarf. It's going ok, but is covered in what I call "button holes" and somehow I went from 40 stitches to 50...? Hmm. But it's about 50cm long now... if only I had a smaller neck.

  • The Feildays are in town this weekend. Shout out to all the farmers. I'd go but I'd don't really need an udder sprayer and Mike's a townie. Still want some gummies though... but like pink ones ;)

  • Round 2 of So You Think You Can Scrap and I am so so stoked... it's been a challenge but it's going well so far. Next challenge is up tomorrow! This is my layout from this Kelly inspired round...

  • Crop Waikato is well and truely FULL... we're filling the room with 27 scrappers! Wowsers.

  • Went to the travel agent AGAIN today... it's gonna hurt this trip... mega money... but hey - what is life but to be lived. I've got my mitts on an Italian phrasebook... "Un Gelato per favore"... yip as long as a girl can ask for icecream all will be ok.

This is life right now...
And before I say anything else I have to say... HI DONNA! What a spoon - I get really mixed up with names... no idea where Karen came from.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop in and let you know that I have been tutuing with my playlist through out May and now that New Zealand music month is over and out I have thrown the brand spanking new one in here... enjoy... some are still from the old one and some are new... I can't tell you how much Handbags and Gladrag makes we want to cry, smile and create...

Seriously if there is a song that make you feel the same I want to know... I crave music... speaks to me.

Also if you listen to radio or C4 at the moment you might just have heard the Ting Tings... told you they'd be big... ;) I've added their lastest release Not My Name too... dare you not to move!

A really scrappy post

Firstly, I entered the first round of So You Think You Can Scrap... this round it was Moniques style which I hate to say came pretty natural to me. She loves to use bright colours and buttons and stars and that's a bit of me too... lots of entrants so a massive good luck to everyone. (PS: Just found out that I got 9 points in the first round - there were 50 entries! WOWSERS!)

Also as promised I have finished our Disneyland album using that pocket book I posted about last month... it's not exactly what I had visioned but it's done. The rest of the pages are HERE.

Reborn

This is the story of a tshirt...
A tshirt who was so loved she had stains on the back, bleach on the front and even the odd little hole...
And how she was reborn...

...as a project for Kiwi Jack Me Up... head on over and see who we've jacked this time ;)
